Azerbaijan managed to detain almost all the separatist leaders who committed war crimes in Karabakh, Russian political scientist, journalist and public figure Maxim Shevchenko said, the Russian bureau of Report informs.
“Azerbaijan received an almost complete ‘royal flush’ of its long-time enemies. For ‘a royal flush’, the only thing missing is Sargsyan and Kocharyan,” Shevchenko said.
He noted that since World War II, it is unlikely that the same number of war criminals have been simultaneously detained and prosecuted.
“Russian propaganda blames Pashinyan for this, but a calm reader would ask: Did Russia have to fight against Azerbaijan for the ‘Artsakh’ project?” Shevchenko said.
On September 27, Ruben Vardanyan, who had illegally arrived in the country, was detained at the Lachin border checkpoint, while crossing the state border, and taken to Baku. He was the so-called “Minister of State of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.”
On September 29, Levon Mnatsakanyan, who was the “Minister of Defense” of the so-called quasi-formation of separatists in Karabakh in 2015-2018, was detained at the Lachin checkpoint.
On October 3, employees of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan detained the former “president” of the separatists in Karabakh, Arayik Harutyunyan. He was charged under articles 100, 116, 117, 120, 214, 214-1, 214-3, 218, 279 and other articles of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic.
