Puerto Rico News: 3:44 PM 8/12/2019 – Before he got too busy with his “Coup D’Etat project”, Douglas Leff the MAMABICHO was sending me the messages, offering his money laundering services, almost every day… Go back to your KGB school, MAMABICHO!

Michael_Novakhov shared this story from Puerto Rico News.

Before he got too busy with his “Coup D’Etat project”, Douglas Leff the MAMABICHO was sending me the messages, offering his money laundering services, almost every day: different groups of people were washing their vans and cars solemnly,  with diligence and care, right under my windows: “WE LAUNDER! And we can press, iron, and fold it for you, if you wish. The only thing that is left, just to put your money in the bank.”
The attempts to establish the “secret communications” is the FBI’s obsession and the important part of their COINTELPRO “tactics”. It is the old and venerable tradition in intelligence work: to establish communications, it comes from the necessities of the submarines lives, where the basic Intelligence skills and habits came from. These old traditions come from their Grandfather Canaris. The FBI follows these training instructions routinely, without fully understanding their meaning, and the reasons for them; it becomes the aim in itself, probably it makes them feel less insecure.
There is no need for the communications of this type, really: we do not live in the “big yellow submarines”, and we can communicate directly.
But the James Bonds of the FBI do not see it, and they do not understand all these details, intricacies, and subtleties.
The FBI is exceptionally and absolutely irreversibly stupid, this is their most pronounced trait, as we all know.
If they were not so stupid, they would go into businesses or the sciences.
The problem is that they are also psychopathic, envious, and sometimes they are evil.
Offering his money laundering services, Leff The MAMABICHO either did not know that I do not need these kinds of services, or it was the routine advertising, just in case; or he wanted “to catch” me.

Go back to your KGB school, MAMABICHO!

Schnelle, schnelle!

EPA drops salmon protection after Trump meets with Alaska governor: ‘The EPA publicly announced the reversal July 30, but EPA staff sources tell CNN that they were informed of the decision a month earlier, during a hastily arranged video conference after Trump’s meeting with Gov. Mike Dunleavy. The governor, a supporter of the project, emerged from that meeting saying the president assured him that he’s “doing everything he can to work with us on our mining concerns.”‘

Restaurant owner agrees to $40,000 settlement in lawsuit claiming its employees harassed a gay server with anti-gay slurs and taunted him about his sexuality. “A federal judge on Thursday signed off on the settlement between the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Mejia Corp., which does business as El Tio Tex-Mex Grill restaurant in Gainesville.”

The problem is that they are also psychopathic, envious, and sometimes they are evil.

Proving that hope does exist in the universe, the city of Modesto, CA has blocked plans for a Straight Pride event.

The city council voted to block the event August 9 after the organizers of the event could not provide proof of insurance to hold the rally at a local park. The Pride event itself would have taken place August 24.

“The city has been informed that the certificate of liability insurance for the proposed event has been voided,” the council said in a statement. “Liability insurance is a requirement for renting many city facilities.”

Opposition to the event welcomed the cancellation. Critics of Straight Pride have noticed the group’s open hostility toward LGBTQ people, as well as ties to white supremacist organizations.

Matthew Mason,  son of Straight Pride organizer Mylinda Mason, became one of the event’s most vociferous critics. “I am in a unique place to call her out for where she’s coming from, which is white supremacy, and I did not feel like I had the right to stay silent,” Matthew Mason said in an interview. “Mylinda constantly talks about revisionist history, but really her style of history is the one that’s revisionist.”

Furthermore, during the debate over the event during a city council meeting, Straight Pride organizer Don Grundmann made a massive gaffe while defending the event, when he referred to it as “a totally peaceful, racist group.” The admission triggered chaos in the meeting, as even the city council members struggled to stifle their laughter.

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – Puerto Rico’s political turmoil seemed to be at least temporarily easing on Monday with attention shifting to policy rather than protests following the replacement governor’s move to suspend a hurricane recovery contract.

In one of her first moves as governor, Wanda Vazquez announced late Sunday that she was scrutinizing a pending $450,000 contract that is part of the program to rebuild and strengthen the island’s power grid, which was destroyed by Hurricane Maria nearly two years ago.

“There is no room in this administration for unreasonable expenses,” said Vazquez, who on Wednesday became Puerto Rico’s third governor in a week following popular protests that resulted in political turmoil.

Immediate pressure on the new governor appeared to be easing somewhat. There have been no large protests since she was sworn in and none appeared on the horizon.

Puerto Rico’s Electric Power Authority, which is more than $9 billion in debt, had been expected to sign the contract with Stantec, a consulting firm based in Canada. Vazquez did not explain why she was suspending the deal, saying only that transparency is a priority for her administration.

However, a power company spokesman emailed a statement to The Associated Press saying that PREPA executive director Jose Ortiz planned to meet with Vazquez on Monday to explain why it was important to sign the contract. Ortiz said the contract has to be submitted before Oct. 6 so the U.S. territory can obtain federal hurricane recovery funds.

A Stantec official based in Puerto Rico did not respond to a request for comment.

It is unclear whether Vazquez’s move will delay efforts to rebuild and bolster the power grid, which remains fragile and is prone to outages that have exasperated many of the island’s 3.2 million people. Power company spokesman Jorge Burgos said that he had no further details and that more information would be released after Monday’s meeting.

Puerto Rico’s power company has awarded several multimillion-dollar contracts since the Category 4 storm hit on Sept. 20, 2017, and many of those deals have come under intense scrutiny, with some being cancelled. Currently, Mammoth Energy Services’ subsidiary Cobra Acquisitions, which has some $1.8 billion in contracts with the power company, is facing a federal investigation.

Economist Jose Caraballo said he hopes Vazquez’s announcement is the first of more changes to come.

“I hope this isn’t a smoke screen and that there’s a real audit,” he said in a phone interview. “That’s what all these people who have lost trust in the government expect.”

Puerto Rico has been mired in political turmoil, with former Gov. Ricardo Rossello resigning Aug. 2 following large protests. The island’s Supreme Court then ruled that his replacement was illegally sworn in, which left Vazquez, the justice secretary, next in line to become governor. The U.S. territory also is struggling to emerge from a 13-year recession and trying to restructure some of its more than $70 billion public debt load.

MSNBC’s Vaughn Hillyard spoke with a voter who implied he was a Trump supporter at the Iowa State Fair.

Asked who he was voting for, the man replied, “Guess. I’m white, old, they call me all kinds of names. Who do you think I would vote for? Come on. I don’t have to fill in the blank, everybody knows. We’re the bad people.”

Asked what kind of names he was called, the man replied, “I’m a racist. I went to school. I shared my yard with a colored guy. I have nothin’ against ’em. I grew up in the east. We grew up … with people.”

Asked if he thought Trump was a racist, the man replied, “No I don’t. I really don’t. … Some of those people he’s talkin’ about have said just as bad things about him that you can’t say on TV.”

The NCAA’s ‘Rich Paul Rule’ is all about protecting its money and power

A new proposal restricting which agents athletes can work with were (and still are) about more than one man.

Editor’s Note: This story was originally published on Aug. 7 and updated after the NCAA amended its agent certification requirements on Aug. 12.

One year ago, the NCAA announced college basketball players testing the NBA draft waters would be able to seek the guidance of an agent without losing their eligibility. On Aug. 6, the NCAA issued a memo fine-tuning the restrictions around which agents athletes are allowed to hire.

Under that proposal, a underclassman can work with an agent and retain his eligibility should he decide to return to school provided that the agent:

  • Has a bachelor’s degree
  • Has been certified by the NBAPA for the last three years
  • Passes an in-person exam administered at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis

After a week of public backlash that culminated in a critical Athletic op-ed by Klutch Sports head Rich Paul, the NCAA removed the requirement for a bachelor’s degree for any agents that are “certified and in good standing” with the NBA Players Association. But why did the NCAA initially have the degree requirement in the first place?

On its face, the initial regulations were put in place to protect student-athletes from being exploited by individuals offering counsel without the proper means to provide it. In reality, they were (and arguably still are) just another avenue to ensure the NCAA is the one doing the exploiting. The initial rules offered nothing but a vain attempt to exert control over athletes who realize their talent is worth more than the cost of a scholarship.

Almost instantly, the NCAA’s original mandate earned the organic nickname it deserved: the Rich Paul rule. LeBron James didn’t waste a second going in:

Paul himself had pointed criticism for the rule in an op-ed for The Athletic.

I actually support requiring three years of experience before representing a kid testing the market. I can even get behind passing a test. However, requiring a four-year degree accomplishes only one thing — systematically excluding those who come from a world where college is unrealistic.

Hours later, the NCAA amended the rule to include agents who were certified by the NBPA, but did not receive a bachelor’s degree.

That list includes Paul, the 37-year-old behind Klutch Sports and one of James’ closest confidants. As legend has it, he caught the eye of a high school-aged LeBron in an airport because he was wearing a Warren Moon throwback jersey. Paul started to build a relationship with James from there and leveraged it into a thriving representation business for sports and entertainment. When Paul’s second biggest client, Anthony Davis, made a trade demand earlier this year that held both the Pelicans and Lakers hostage, it made him one of the most infamous people in sports.

Unlike most agents, Rich Paul is African-American. Unlike most agents, he didn’t go to college. He was too busy building an empire.

NBA players saw this as a naked attempt to single out Paul

Paul took college classes at Cleveland State and Akron before dropping out when James put him on the payroll (he has since been given an honorary degree from Cleveland State – go Vikings). Paul eventually began working for super agent Leon Rose at CAA when he realized he could do this himself, so long as he had LeBron at his side. Klutch Sports was born.

In a 2012 ESPN profile, Paul put his schooling in perspective:

”I had great teaching,” Paul says. “Working with Nike and at CAA, that’s the equivalent of going to Michigan Law School and to MIT.”

At this point, Paul’s accomplishments come with no asterisks. He is a self-styled mogul who is only gaining more influence both in the NBA and in Hollywood. The NCAA couldn’t keep Rich Paul away if it tried — he could always have an underling with a degree take a test in Indianapolis and handle the more hands-on aspects of representation. This is bigger than one man.

The NCAA’s new rule wasn’t explicitly about Rich Paul. It’s about making sure no unwanted parties could check its power.

The NCAA has been living in fear of agents for the entirety of its existence, marking the intersection between college athletes and personal advisors as the exact point where amateurism and professional sports start to blur. It’s this context that made last year’s decision to allow college basketball players to begin working with agents during the draft process feel like such a landmark occasion for proponents of athletes rights.

Of course, the NCAA has no interest in athletes rights. If they did, they would have used the sprawling FBI corruption investigation as an opportunity to rewrite the bylaws of their organization. Instead, the Condoleezza Rice-led commission that developed these rule changes did little more than double-down on the NCAA’s existing standards.

The NCAA isn’t requiring agents to have a degree and to pass a test so it can protect players. It’s trying to protect its own money and power. This is the NCAA’s attempt to eliminate any future individual who might threaten it.

The NCAA doesn’t want athletes to turn pro — it wants them to stay in school and help make money for everyone but themselves. This is the organization that truly, honest-to-god believes freshmen should be ineligible. This is the organization that booted a kicker off a college football team because he was profitizing his YouTube channel.

The NCAA only wants NCAA-approved agents giving advice so it can maintain its grift. The truth is that most of the people in the NCAA’s universe do not have the best interests of the athletes at heart. It’s why Jim Boeheim came out swinging against Darius Bazley, the former McDonald’s All-American who reneged on his commitment to the Orange to instead train for the draft. Bazley, by the way, hired Rich Paul, signed a $1 million deal with New Balance, and still got drafted in the first round. That decision worked out just fine for him.

The NCAA is feeling the heat, both from athletes exploring other avenues to reach the pros and from the people who constantly point out their hypocrisy. In the end, every move the organization makes is to ensure its long-con keeps running. Trying to sanction where advice can come from is just the latest extension of that.

Tactically Naive: The Premier League is making us pay attention in August, which is rude

West Ham United v Manchester City - Premier League

Photo by Chloe Knott – Danehouse/Getty Images

More than any recent year, every game and goal does matter in the Premier League.

New season, same old Tactically Naive. Welcome back to SB Nation’s weekly soccer column. It’s raining.

The Premier League is back

Ah, the Premier League. It seems only yesterday that Manchester City and Liverpool were coming to the end of their epic title race, one that ended only when one side proved to be a fraction less perfect than the other. And now: a new campaign, a new dawn, and perhaps new adventures. Let’s check in on the first week.

Liverpool put four goals past Norwich in the first half!

Right.

Manchester City score five against West Ham!

Ah.

Tactically Naive has never made predictions and never will. But if the Liverpool-City vs. 18-other-scrubs dynamic persists — and based on the showings of Norwich and West Ham, it could — then we can’t help but wonder what this will do to the Premier League as an experience. What will happen if the atmosphere of the end of last season’s title race extends out over a full season? A relentless march of they’ve won, now they’ve won, and they’ve won again, and they’ve won again, all through winter and on into spring.

Moment to moment, game to game, it could be kind of bleak. Football is at its best when there are two teams trying to play it; if one is adopting the crash position and hoping to survive without too much damage to their goal difference, it doesn’t do much for the spectacle.

But the corollary to that is the increased stakes of, well, everything. Once upon a time, back when the Premier League was a fresh-faced youngster, title challenging sides could basically fumble their way through the first half of the season. Stick a big run in the second half of the season, and that’ll probably see you right.

The shock therapies of Mourinho’s Chelsea and now Guardiola’s City have seen this indolence off. Now we are in the slightly ridiculous situation where everything feels important, even here in the middle of August. That a point dropped here could resonate all the way through to May. That it’s time to start thinking about goal difference. That it’s a marathon and a sprint, all at the same time.

Of course, much chaos lies between now and May: European campaigns, injuries, transfers. Neither side have yet played any of the other big teams: Tottenham, Chelsea, United, or Brighton & Hove Albion. Yet more than anything else, there’s a sense almost of imposition. We have to start paying proper attention right away? Frankly, that doesn’t seem fair.

Neymar is … not back

History will record that Neymar’s move to Paris Saint-Germain was fundamentally a self-centred one, in a quite literal sense: he wanted to put himself at the centre of something. And he did. And it’s probably fair to say that it hasn’t quite gone to plan.

He didn’t play for PSG this weekend, though of course they still won. But he was at the centre of things even in his absence, as PSG fans chanted his name and unveiled banners in his honour. Sorry, his dishonour. TN’s French isn’t great, but we think the rough translation runs something like:

Neymar, please depart in as prompt a fashion as possible

and:

Neymar, we are of the opinion that, on balance, your relationship with our club has been largely (if not wholly) transactional and we, for our part, find that more than a little frustrating

Still, while his time in Paris hasn’t quite worked out as planned, Neymar has managed something fairly remarkable. He is, after all, one of the most thrilling footballers of his generation, an incisive multi-faceted attacker blessed with pace, vision, and a pretty remarkable scoring record. And yet his name is now a byword for tedious dicking about. Where jaws should be dropping, instead eyes are rolling.

Perhaps it’s all been a piece of performance art on the fundamental incompatibility between a cult of celebrity that operates on the level of the individual and a sport that requires the individual be made subservient to the cause. If so, it’s very good, and Neymar should probably win prizes.

If not, well, it feels like Real Madrid is the call. He can’t be happy, and he really doesn’t need the stress of a return to Barcelona. Just imagine the awkward conversations. Hi guys. Sorry about the whole thing. You know. That. Is … is my old number still available? Just checking, just checking. So, er, what have you been up to?

Oops

That time is experienced at different speeds is well recorded: we all know that time flies when you’re having fun, moves briskly when you’re moderately contented, and QWOPs along the ground when you’ve got a toothache. But even allowing for that, and for slow motion, we estimate that the 21-second clip below is about four hours long, and most of that is the time between the ball hitting the referee, and the referee raising his hand with his thumb up.

In that time, Malcom is alone with his thoughts, and his thoughts are desperate. He is realizing there might be a red card coming. He is planning his formal apology. He is mulling the tiny village in Outer Mongolia where he will retreat with his family and his shame. He is picking out his alias. He is fleshing out his backstory. He is choosing a new vocation. He is— oh, it’s a thumbs up. What a relief.

An ongoing debate over how to fund a proposed new bridge in Alabama has just taken a very gay and a very sexual turn.

For months, lawmakers in Alabama have been debating how to fund a proposed new $2.1 billion bridge that will stretch across the Mobile River.

AL.com reported back in May:

The project involves building a 2.5-mile-long, six-lane cable stay bridge that stands 215 feet above the Mobile River. The bridge would be among the tallest in North America, and only five feet shorter than the 220-foot height of the famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

One proposed idea for covering costs was to charge motorists a $3 to $6 toll for using the bridge.

NBD, right? There are toll bridges all over the country, including three in Alabama.

Wrong! Someone very opposed to the idea has sent not one but two anonymous emails to lawmakers claiming that if state employees would stop trolling for sex online they could find a way to pay for the bridge that didn’t involve charging motorists.

ALreporter.com reports:

The email sent from “notollbridge@gmail.com” claims that naked photos of alleged state employees are linked to why the state can’t fully fund the I-10 bridge connecting Mobile and Baldwin.

The group surmises that if only state workers weren’t “spending state time and resources sending and receiving nude photos and seeking sex” the state could pay for the bridge.

According to the cryptic email, “Our [the group’s] IT professionals in the Block the Toll Group … has discovered” sexual solicitation during office hours.

“The reality is we could have no tolls if state employees were productive and not spending state time and resources sending and receiving nude photos and seeking sex,” the email alleges.

A second email claims that one state worker in particular has been posting on a gay dating site, which is even more scandalous, since this is Alabama we’re talking about.

“How can the state charge a toll if they cannot control state employees surfing dating and sex sites?” the email reads.

The sender claims to have received the information from data stolen from a particular state agency’s computer; however, a forensic sweep of the agency’s servers found that none of its computers were not compromised and that allegations were false.
